Program Description:
This International Experience will focus around Agriculture and Natural Resources in New Zealand. Students will have the opportunity to experience New Zealand agriculture through visiting farms (livestock and crop), various agricultural businesses, and discussion with agricultural leaders. The tour of New Zealand will include both the North and South Islands. The North Island will include visiting dairy farms, sheep operations, Te Puia (Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve), Hawkes Bay – the fruit bowl of New Zealand-, and composite beef breeders plus more. The South Island will not only include visiting cropping and dairy systems, as well as High Country Station (Hereford cattle, fine wool Merino sheep and Red Deer), but also a chance to visit unforgettable sites such as Queenstown and the Doubtful Sound.
