Program Description:
This program will be centered around Johannesburg in the northeastern region of South Africa. We will focus on culture, natural resources and agriculture in South Africa. Agricultural systems between communal and noncommunal farms will be contrasted. We will visit with South African farmers and see locally adapted livestock breeds and crops. We will spend two nights at a game preserve in Limpopo Province, which has wild game, livestock and crops.  Cultural stops will include the Apartheid Museum, Lesedi Cultural Village and the Ann Van Dyk Cheetah Center. The program will culminate with an excursion to Pilanesberg National Park to observe wild animals in their natural habitat.
