India is the largest dairy producer in the world and processes massive amounts of food feeding the world’s largest population. Acquaint yourself with the world’s oldest and largest dairy cooperatives. Food processing in India is forged by the communities and traditions, influenced by the environment, landscape, history, and culture. This will be a chance for you to experience the wonders of this diverse agricultural and food science landscape through farm visits, industry/organization tours, and food markets, while also seeing historic sites including tombs, forts, and the Taj Mahal. Students will be able to experience, the culture, food, and lifestyle of the people of India.

There will be a short course prior to the two-week excursion to familiarize everyone with the foundations of India’s food and agricultural system, governmental roles and key historical events shaping it today, current infrastructure, and cultural norms in India.
